The Chapala Women’s Team finished as runner-up in the 2025 Telmex-Telcel Cup after a tough final against Guadalajara that ended 2-1 in favor of the capital team. The match took place on Oct. 19 in León, Guanajuato, wrapping up an outstanding tournament for Chapala, who had remained undefeated until the final.

Chapala struck first in the opening half after Guadalajara’s defense made an error. Chapala’s Nancy pressured the opposing goalkeeper after a risky back pass. The keeper lost control, and Chapala player number 8 pushed the rebound into the net in the 13th minute, sending Chapala fans into celebration.

However, Guadalajara answered quickly. Just four minutes later, at 17:15, their number 9 forward connected with a cross from the wing and tied the match with a powerful shot.

Early in the second half, Guadalajara found the winning goal. At 1:41, a Chapala defender tried to pass the ball back to her goalkeeper, who attempted to clear it. The clearance bounced off a Guadalajara forward and went straight into the net, sealing the 2-1 victory.

Despite the defeat, the Chapala Women’s Team impressed with their skill and determination throughout the tournament, proving they are one of the most competitive teams in the region.
