Last week our sports score provider accidently sent us scores from 2025 mixed in with scores from 2026, leading to errors in reporting NFL and NBA scores in the print version. Our apologies for the inconvenience. Here are the correct scores and information on Super Bowl contenders.
From Jan. 14–18, the NFL divisional round narrowed the playoff field to four teams: Denver Broncos, New England Patriots, Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams, with the Rams beating the Bears 20–17 in overtime on Jan. 18. This year’s divisional round (Jan. 14–18, 2026) sent Denver, New England, Seattle and Los Angeles through to the conference championships.
The NFL playoffs for the 2025 season are now down to four teams for Super Bowl LX:

- Seattle Seahawks (NFC)
- Los Angeles Rams (NFC)
- The championship games are: Patriots vs. Broncos in AFC and Seahawks vs. Rams in NFC.
Key results Jan. 14–18
In the AFC divisional round, the Broncos beat the Bills 33–30 in overtime and the Patriots defeated the Texans 28–16.
In the NFC divisional round, the Seahawks routed the 49ers 41–6 (Wow!) and the Rams edged the Bears 20–17 in overtime.

The Los Angeles Rams beat the Chicago Bears 20–17 in overtime at Soldier Field on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2026, to advance to the NFC Championship Game.
Chicago forced OT on a Caleb Williams touchdown pass to Cole Kmet in the final 20 seconds of regulation before the Rams won on a game-ending field goal.
