Organizers expect about 20,000 spectators to attend Puerto Vallarta’s major downhill cycling event on May 1 and 2. The city’s historic center will become an urban racecourse where speed and skill take center stage.

The route will begin in the Las Antenas area, run through narrow streets, and end at the iconic Malecón (boardwalk). Along the way, 40 professional riders from 12 countries will race over jumps and natural obstacles. They will compete in downhill and freestyle categories.

Top freeride athletes will take part, including Tomáš Slavík of the Czech Republic and Nicholi Rogatkin of the United States. Mexico’s team will feature Johny Salido, a leading national rider, and veteran racer Ricardo Peredo.

“It is a privilege to take part in this event, on a course built for high-speed racing through one of the most beautiful cities in our country,” Peredo said. He has more than 15 years of experience. “Puerto Vallarta is a unique destination in the world.”

  1. The free event will let fans watch from downtown streets and nearby terraces as riders perform high-speed tricks and stunts.
