The Chapala women’s team ended its run in the 2026 Jalisco Cup after a 0-2 loss to Autlán de Navarro. The second leg of the round of 16 took place last weekend at the Juan Rayo Municipal Stadium and gave the visitors the win, after a 0-0 tie in the first leg.

Chapala struggled from the start. Team captain Nancy Hermosillo left the field with an injury. Fernanda Ayala entered as a substitute. After the captain’s exit, Autlán de Navarro scored in the 33rd minute and took control of the match.

Before halftime, Autlán added a second goal and made the score 0-2. Chapala went into the break needing three goals in the second half to turn the series around under the away goals rule.

In the second half, Chapala saw an opportunity after Autlán’s number 10 received a red card. The home team played with an extra player and pushed forward, but could not break through the visitors’ defense. Autlán held its lead until the final whistle.

With this result, Chapala ended its unbeaten home record and exited the state tournament. Autlán de Navarro moves on to the next round and will face Tepatitlán next week.

After the match, Autlán player Miriam Andrea spoke about the game. “We knew it would be difficult, but the team was ready. We respect Chapala because they are a strong opponent. It was a long trip to achieve our goal, and now we are thinking about the match against Tepatitlán,” she said.
