Carlos Vázquez, an athlete representing the Club Cazadores de San Juan Cosalá, took third place in the men’s 5-kilometer (3.1-mile) race during the Jalisco Corre 2026 Series event held on April 26 in the municipality of Tequila.

First place went to Luis Alberto de Jesús Rodríguez Blanco, a runner from the municipality of Atotonilco el Alto, Jalisco. Second place went to Saúl Montes Sotelo, who also represents the running community of Atotonilco el Alto.

This edition of the Jalisco Corre Series is an initiative of the Government of Jalisco that establishes venues in the towns of San Miguel el Alto, Tequila, Tapalpa, and Tala. The organization has a total capacity of 1,500 participants, of whom 1,400 are distributed across the 5- and 10-kilometer (6.2-mile) distances, while the remaining 100 spots are allocated to the children’s age categories.

The municipal government sponsored the transportation of the members of the Club Cazadores de San Juan Cosalá team to the event venue. After the results were announced, Club Cazadores posted a message of appreciation on its Facebook page to the local authorities for their support in enabling its runners to participate in this stage of the state circuit.
