Jaquelin Guadalupe Algaba de la Cruz, a young athlete from Mezcala de la Asunción (in the municipality of Poncitlán), won the silver medal in para-powerlifting in the girls’ youth category at the 2026 CONADE National Paralympiad.

Competing on Friday, Sept. 25, in the girls’ youth category for participants born between 2012 and 2013, the first-year Technical Secondary School No. 70 student secured second place with a total lift of 78 kilos (172 pounds) across her three attempts. 

The powerlifting events were held Sept. 25–26 at the CODE López Mateos sports complex in Guadalajara.
