San Juan Cosalá has its own cycling school, which has been in operation for over two years and is aimed at children from six to fourteen years old. The school is located on Chapala-Jocotepec Road #110, in San Juan Cosalá. Its founder, Joel Nava, said that he began this project with his own funds to promote sports among the children and teenagers of San Juan Cosalá. The school's objective is to provide children with a healthy focus on sports culture. The club also works to to train kids for local and national competitions, such as the Pan American Games and the Olympic Games, where they can proudly represent their community and the state of Jalisco. Nava said that enrollment in the cycling school opens in January. Students will train for eight months with the goal of participating in both local and state competitions.Those interested should follow the school’s Fascebook page to see if they post information on fees and enrollment details. Lacking much support at the beginning, Nava’s project has gradually gained sponsors. Nava reiterated that the project is eager for more people to join and become part of this institution.
