U.S. college highlights
College football bowl season kicked into gear Dec. 23–26, with early bowls such as the Boca Raton, New Orleans and Frisco Bowls producing close scores and setting the stage for the larger New Year’s slate. Louisville edged Toledo 27–22 in the Boca Raton Bowl, Western Kentucky topped Southern Miss 27–16 in the New Orleans Bowl, and Ohio beat UNLV 17–10 in the Frisco Bowl.
NCAA Division I men’s basketball continued regular-season play around Christmas week, including Top 25 teams in action on Dec. 23. No Division I men’s games were played on Dec. 25, as all major conferences were dark on Christmas Day. College bowl games continue almost daily. We will report highlights next week. NCAA men’s basketball had a regular schedule through Dec. 23–26 with no Top 25 teams playing on Christmas Day itself. There were no Division I men’s games on Dec. 25.

- Over the last week, the main national U.S. pickleball results are from the APP Tour Championships, which just wrapped up the 2025 APP season. (Fort Lauderdale, Dec 9–14)
