Charales de Chapala secured a spot in the Mexican third-division professional league (TDP) quarterfinals after defeating La Piedad Imperial 6-1 in the series overall. The lakeside team now prepares to face Aves Blancas de Tepatitlán de Morelos in the next round.
The team, led by Érick Gutiérrez Nápoles, advanced by building on its strong results in earlier matches and showing clear control in the round of 16. The win confirms a strong season for the Jalisco club, which has performed well in one of the league’s most competitive regions.
Earlier, Charales advanced from the round of 32 with a 3-1 aggregate win over H2O Purépechas. They closed that series with a scoreless draw at Chapala’s Juan Rayo Municipal Field on April 25. With these results, the team keeps its hopes alive for the title and promotion in the 2025–26 season.
Aves Blancas reached this stage after defeating Irritilas FC in a close series that ended this weekend. The matchup between Chapala and Tepatitlán is expected to be one of the most exciting in the playoffs, featuring two strong teams from Jalisco.
