Guadalajara Sports Club, known as Chivas, is preparing for the Liga MX Clausura 2026 semifinals after a historic comeback against Tigres UANL. The team hopes to win its 13th league title.
Club Chivas will face Cruz Azul in the next round. The first match will take place on May 13 at 8 p.m. at Banorte Stadium in Mexico City. Chivas will try to take the early advantage on the road.
The second match will be Sunday at 7 p.m. and will mark Chivas’ return to Jalisco Stadium. The club will play at its longtime former home to close the series in front of its fans.
The change occurred because Akron Stadium in Zapopan is an official FIFA World Cup venue. Under FIFA rules, World Cup stadiums cannot be used after May 13. Officials must formally hand the facilities over to FIFA after that date.
In the other semifinal series, C.F. Pachuca will face Pumas UNAM. Their first match will be on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Hidalgo Stadium in Pachuca. The second match will take place on Sunday at 7 p.m. at the University Olympic Stadium in Mexico City.
