More than 750 fans from Chapala attended the meeting between Charros de Jalisco and Diablos Rojos, at the invitation of José Luis González Íñigo, owner of the Charros de Jalisco baseball club, in coordination with the Chapala Government. The fans received free transportation and admission to the stadium, perks to make the event unforgettable

During the day, Chapala President Alejandro de Jesús Aguirre Curiel highlighted on social media the importance of uniting sport and culture to generate experiences that strengthen family coexistence and a sense of community identity.

“When sport and culture meet, extraordinary things happen,” said the president, who thanked the management of Charros de Jalisco for the invitation and highlighted the opportunity that families from Chapala had to enjoy an afternoon of professional baseball.

As part of the meeting, traditional Sayacas of Ajijic and the Tlayacapan Band danced and played to share Chapala cultural wealth, music, and color with thousands of fans in the stands.

In a ceremony, the Charros de Jalisco recognized the municipal government for its work in support of sport and for promoting the development of baseball in Jalisco. In turn, the City Council granted recognition to the club for its sporting achievements and for collaborating to promote this sport among Chapala’s families.

“Thank you for opening your doors and allowing us to live this great experience,” said Aguirre Curiel, in appreciation of the sports organization’s hospitality.

On the field, the Charros de Jalisco defeated the Diablos Rojos 9-5 in the third game of the series. The president of Chapala threw out the ceremonial first pitch.

With these kinds of activities, the Government of Chapala seeks to bring the population closer to high-level sporting and cultural events, promoting family unity, local identity, and interest in sports among new generations.
