The Ixtlahuacán de los Membrillos municipal team qualified for the grand final of the 2026 Copa Jalisco (Jalisco Cup) after defeating the Tlajomulco de Zúñiga municipal team on aggregate (combined series scoring) 5-2. The team clinched its spot in the final in an intense second-leg match at La Arena.

With this win, the state tournament will repeat the final played two years ago. Ixtlahuacán de los Membrillos will again face the Ameca squad, but this year the final will not be held at Jalisco Stadium. Instead, the teams will play a two-game aggregate series, with each finalist hosting one match on their home field.

The Ixtlahuacán squad will approach this matchup with a strong desire for athletic revenge after what happened in 2024. The team will seek to make history and crown itself for the first time in the state’s most important amateur soccer contest.

Meanwhile, the Ameca squad will arrive at the commitment to defend its crown and secure the second championship in its history in the competition.
