Charales de Chapala took a decisive step toward their playoff aspirations by defeating H2O Purépechas 3-1 on the road. The match, the first leg of the round of 32, gave the team from Lakeside a comfortable lead heading into the series finale in Jalisco.

Agustín Radillo and Elías Ramíre scored goals, along with an own goal by the home team, which ultimately sealed the visitors’ win on Wednesday, April 22, in the Michoacán capital.

The win allows the Chapala team to force their next opponent to win by a margin of at least three goals to overturn Chapala’s aggregate score in the second leg.

The decisive match will take place on Saturday, April 25, at 7 p.m., at the Juan Rayo municipal stadium, where local fans are expected to rally behind the Charales to secure their ticket to the round of 16.
